The original Marble Falls Post Office was constructed south of the Colorado River and opened for business in 1884.
- This building was constructed in 1910 by William P. Cochran, who was appointed postmaster in 1901.

In the 1890s, town developer Gen. Adam R. Johnson and Farmers Alliance members constructed a cotton mill on this site because of the Colorado River's potential for electricity.
- The Marble Falls Cotton and Woolen Co., established in 1892, had a two-story stone factory built for them that was 300 feet long by 100 feet broad.
- The Marble Falls Textile Mills Company added new hydropower gear.
